Misako's passion for art and design has been evident from childhood. She initially qualified as a textile designer in Japan. Her career took her into the automotive industry, spending several years as a colour and trim designer for a major manufacture. She then moved to the cosmetics industry, designing packaging and point of sale advertising, before turning to jewellery design.
Misako enjoys creating contemporary jewellery in unexpected forms and materials, combining familiar objects in unusual or unexpected ways to create new and surprising forms and shapes. Her design can take the soft, organic forms of nature and capture them in precious metal.
Misako has her own studio in Melbourne, Australia.
